O. E. Bucholz Receives License

DALTON, Ga., May 30 " The Cherokeen Presbytery met here in special session Friday afternoon for the purpose of issuing a license to preach to O. E. Buchholz. Mr. Buchholz has recently completed his course at Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, Va., and has accepted a call to the pastorate of Overbrook Presbyterian Church in a popular residential suburb of Richmond. He decided to return to his home to secure his license, but will be ordained at the church the pastorate of which he has accepted.

Catholic Statistics

The official Catholic Directory just published by P. J. Kennedy & Sons, New York, gives the following statistics for the year regarding the Savannah diocese: Bishop 1, priests 68, churches with resident priests 21; missions with churches 34, local churches 55, colleges 3, academies 7, parishes with schools 17, pupils 3,457, orphan asylums 5, orphans 247, population, about 18,340 Catholics.

Sacred Harp Singing

The Sacred Harpists will hold their annual all-day singing at the court house in Decatur on the first Sunday in June. The Sacred Harpists have held an all-day singing annually for twelve years. Last year, 2,000 persons attended.

Dr. Ogden's Subject

Dr. Dunbar Ogden, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, will preach Sunday evening on "The Sanctity of An Oath," the Frank case having suggested this theme. The subject of the morning sermon will be "Excuses."
