In the course of a short talk at the
Central Baptist church Sunday, Dr. Caleb A. Ridley, the pastor, paid a high
tribute to Chief of Police J. L. Beavers, whose vice crusades have attracted so
much attention.
Jim Beavers is Gods gift to us, said
the pastor, and we thank God for him.
Dr. Ridleys
remarks were made after a sermon by Dr. Neighbours, the evangelist, who has
been preaching at the Central Baptist church the past week. Sunday there were
more than thirty members added to the church, according to the pastors report.
