Previous to that time I worked for the Orr Stationery Co. for Adam Woodward, as a drayman. Previous to that time I worked for Mr. S. M. for about three months. On Saturday, April 26, 1913, I arose between 9 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. and ate my breakfast about 10:30. I left the house, 172 Rhodes St., and went to Peters Street and visited a number of saloons between Fair and Peters and Hayne and Peters St. I purchased a half pint of Rye Whiskey from a negro who was walking along Peters St. about 11:00 A.M., paying 40 cents for this whiskey. I visited the saloons in saloon and went to the pool tables and saw three colored men shooting dice, and I joined them and won 90 cents from them. Then I purchased beer, paying 10 cents for same. Then I left Peters St. and went to a moving picture show on Decatur St. and remained there until about 12:30 P.M. I then returned home, 172 Rhodes St., and arrived home about 1:00 P.M. and found Lorine Jones there and she asked me if I had any money. I replied yes, and gave her $3.50 (one dollar in greenback, and the rest in silver money). I drew $6.75 from the pencil factory on Friday, April 25, between 6:00 and 6:30. I spent 15 cents for meats on Friday night. Before receiving the $6.75, I did not have any money in my pocket. At 2:30 P.M., on April 26, I purchased beer worth 10 cents and then returned to the house, 172 Rhodes St., and gave Lorine Jones $1.00. I then went to the moving picture show on Decatur St. and saw the 5 and 7 cents worth of beer. I remained at the moving picture show until 6:00 P.M. I then went to 172 Rhodes St. and got a clock and went to the moving picture show on Decatur St. and remained there until 7:30 P.M. I then went to my mother's house, 92 Tatnall St., and got my lunch and then returned home and remained at home until Monday, April 28th.

On April 28, I reported for work at the pencil factory at 7:00 A.M.
