Burns is rapidly completing his investigation of the Phagan mystery. A report that gained headway in the Frank case yesterday suggested that startling evidence has been obtained against Jim Conley. However, it could not be learned whether or not this evidence was secured by Detective Burns.
Burns refused to talk on the subject, as did the various members of Frank's counsel. Burns is expected to render his report during the early part of next week, as he is rapidly completing his investigation.
On Friday, Burns stated that he would consult with anyone during the progress of his investigation who knew of any evidence bearing on Leo Frank's character. He indicated that he had thus far found nothing to substantiate the bad character charges that were made against the prisoner at his trial.
On Friday morning, Burns held a short conference with Mrs. Lucile Frank, wife of the superintendent, and with Rabbi David Marx. Neither would discuss the nature of their conversation.
